“Doonesbury” cartoonist Garry Trudeau is among the people expected to speak this afternoon in New York City at a memorial tribute for film director Robert Altman, who died last November at the age of 81.

Trudeau, whose comic strip is distributed by Universal Press Syndicate, worked with Altman on HBO’s two “Tanner” series in 1988 and 2004.

Among the other people slated to speak today are Harry Belafonte, E.L. Doctorow, Kevin Kline, Julianne Moore, Tim Robbins, and Lily Tomlin.
