Today’s “Nest Heads” comic references Garry Trudeau’s current “Doonesbury” sabbatical.

In the strip’s first panel, one character says Trudeau “is taking 12 weeks off from ‘Doonesbury.’ Not many cartoonists get to run reprints that long.” Another character responds: “I’m sure they find other ways to take a little time off.”

Then, “Nest Heads” cartoonist John Allen takes a little time off by repeating the same dialogue and art in the second panel.

The comic can be seen here.

“Nest Heads” is distributed by Copley News Service, while “Doonesbury” is from Universal Press Syndicate.
