Douglas Arthur, managing director and lead analyst covering the newspaper sector, is leaving Morgan Stanley. He is transitioning coverage of the Publishing and Advertising group to Lisa Monaco.

Currently Monaco leads the Diversified Publishers group. For three years, Monaco followed Moody’s Investors Service, FactSet, and R.H. Donnelley. Collis Boyce and Cristina de la Cierva will support Monaco.

During his time at the Morgan Stanley, Arthur served as global team leader of the Media and Equity Research division, mentored several analysts and associates, and participated in department committees and task forces.

Arthur joined Morgan Stanley in 1994. Prior to that, he served as principal at Kidder, Peabody where he was an equity analyst covering the paper and forest products, business services, and publishing industries. He was ranked as Third Team in 2002 and First Team in 2001 in the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team survey, and, before that, was ranked Third and Runner-up for nine years.
