Dow Jones Shuffles Staff as Kansas Moves to IAC Venture

David Kansas has been appointed to president of the joint venture between Dow Jones & Co. and InterActiveCorp (IAC), Paul Steiger, The Wall Street Journal’s managing editor, wrote in a memo to staff.

Nikhil Deogun will succeed Kansas as Money & Investing editor in New York. Monica Langley will step into Deogun’s role as deputy bureau chief in Washington.

Kansas has served as editor in chief of the financial Web site, Street.com and has written two books including The Wall Street Journal Complete Money & Investing Guidebook.

Deogun has worked as the paper’s deputy bureau chief in Washington for three years. Before that, he was in charge of the media, marketing, and entertainment reporting group in New York.

Langley broke several stories at the Journal including ones covering General Motors and Citigroup. She joined the paper in 1983 and left to practice corporate law. She came back to the Journal in 1996. Earlier this year, she was named a news editor.
