Knight Ridder Digital and LexisNexis formed an alliance last month that will provide the full text of 28 daily Knight Ridder publications to LexisNexis customers. In return, Dayton, Ohio-based LexisNexis is providing its news research services to 17 Knight Ridder newspapers.

“Our agreement with LexisNexis is another major step in creating new revenue streams from Knight Ridder Digital Content,” said Ken Doctor, vice president, content services for Knight Ridder Digital, San Jose, Calif.

Separately, Knight Ridder newspapers and LexisNexis announced a new contract to provide access to LexisNexis to Knight Ridder employees, including nexis.com for journalists and lexis.com for Knight Ridder’s legal staff.

Previously, only a few Knight Ridder papers, such as The Kansas City Star and Fort Worth Star-Telegram, were available on LexisNexis.
