E.W. Scripps reported that its newspaper advertising revenue for the month of October increased 8.5%, or $63.3 million when compared to the same month a year ago. However, this October had one additional Sunday. Year-to-date, advertising revenue is up 2.6%.
All of Scripps’ advertising categories showed gains in October. Local advertising revenues increased 2.7% or $14.7 million. Classified was up 12% or $19.3 million. National rose 5.8% or $3.8 million and pre-prints jumped 16% or $12.4 million.
