Nackey Scagliotti Tuesday was elected chairwoman of board of the Cincinnati newspaper and broadcast company, E.W. Scripps Co., founded by her great grandfather.
Scagliotti’s election was announced at Scripps’ annual shareholders meeting. She succeeds the retiring William R. Burleigh, whose long career with the company included years as a reporter, editor and publisher.
Scagliotti has been a Scripps director since 1999 and a trustee of the Edward W. Scripps Trust, named after the company’s founder and her great-grandfather.
The trust controls Scripps through super-voting shares.
