Peggy Bellows, the first woman editor of The Forum, is no longer working at the newspaper, Forum Communications Co. officials said Wednesday.
Forum Communications had no further comment on Bellows’ departure. Bellows, who has been the newspaper’s editor since May 2005, declined comment.
Managing Editor Matthew Von Pinnon will lead the newsroom until a new editor is named, company officials said.
Bellows, a Philadelphia native, was hired three months after former editor Lou Ziegler died of cancer. Earlier, she was a senior editor at The News Tribune in Tacoma, Wash., and the first woman editor of the Herald & Review in Decatur, Ill.
