Editorial Cartoonist Thomas Stockett Dies at 82

Award-winning editorial cartoonist Thomas Stockett died of a heart attack last Wednesday in Baltimore. He was 82.

Stockett was editorial cartoonist for the Afro-American Newspapers of the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area for 53 years. He was also known for his paintings, many of which were displayed in exhibits.

Today, Stockett was to have received a Black History Month recognition from the state of Maryland.
