The Association of American Editorial Cartoonists late this afternoon announced the 2007-8 election winners who’ll join President Nick Anderson on the AAEC board.

Anderson, of the Houston Chronicle and Washington Post Writers Group, automatically moved up from president-elect to president effective today.

The new officers are President-elect Ted Rall of Universal Press Syndicate, Vice President Rex Babin of The Sacramento Bee and King Features Syndicate, and reelected Secretary-Treasurer V. Cullum Rogers of The Independent Weekly in Durham, N.C.

Receiving the most votes for the AAEC’s three director spots were self-syndicated editorial cartoon animator Mark Fiore, Jeff Parker of Florida Today and Cagle Cartoons, and Ann Telnaes of the Cartoonists & Writers Syndicate/New York Times Syndicate.

Also serving on the 2007-8 board will be Immediate Past President Rob Rogers of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and United Media.
