Washingtonpost.com and nytimes.com are the top finalists in the 2002 EPpy Awards competition, picking up eight and seven finalist spots, respectively.
In their seventh year, the EPpy Awards are sponsored by Editor & Publisher magazine. The winners will be announced at the E&P 13th Annual Interactive Newspaper Conference and Trade Show in San Jose, Calif., on Friday, Feb. 8.
The Topeka (Kan.) Capital-Journal‘s Web site, CJOnline.com, was nominated in four categories.
Nearly 300 entries were submitted for this year’s contest, and over 30 independent judges from around the world will decide the winners. An EPpy for outstanding individual achievement will also be given.
