Gannett Co. Inc. has appointed Craig Etheridge as mobile advertising sales vice president for Gannett Digital. Etheridge was most recently emerging platform sales vice president at The Weather Channel, where he was responsible for sales of TWC’s mobile product portfolio.
Etheridge is responsible for expanding Gannett’s mobile advertising portfolio and developing a long-term sales strategy.
“Our local and national mobile efforts have been very successful to date, with over five million iPhone, iPad and Android app downloads for USA Today, a network of 105 local-market mobile Websites, and an interactive text message program that leverages our tremendous scale in print and broadcast media,” Gannett President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Gracia Martore said in a statement.
At TWC for 15 years, Etheridge worked directly with agencies and brands, and is credited with year-over-year growth in sales across a number of verticals, including travel, retail and finance. He also helped launch TWC’s iPad application. Etheridge earlier was a regional director of Netscape-AOL interactive marketing.
