Amanda Bennett, who left the Phildelphia Inquirer in November after three years as the paper’s top editor, has been named executive editor in charge of enterprise stories at Bloomberg News overseeing a staff of more than 150 people, according to a memo on the Romenesko Web site.
Romenesko says he received the news from Bloomberg News’ editor-in-chief Matthew Winkler, who announced the move to staff last Friday. Winkler reportedly knew Bennett from their days working together at the Wall Street Journal, and is quoted as saying he started asking her about her plans immediately after she left the Inky.
