One way the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC) will mark its 50th anniversary is by mounting an exhibit called “Running Out of Ink: 50 Years of Campaign Cartoons.”
The show will be held at American University’s Katzen Arts Center in Washington, D.C., where the AAEC is holding its 50th-anniversary convention this July 4-7.
Cartoons are being sought for the exhibit, with April 1 the deadline for submissions. “We are looking for the best cartoons about presidential campaigns from the last 13 elections — 1960 to 2008,” said AAEC President Rob Rogers, who does editorial cartoons for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and United Media.
