Today, the Facebook Journalism Project is partnering with the Lenfest Institute for Journalism and the Local Media Association (LMA) to offer a total of $1 million in grants to support US and Canadian local news organizations covering the coronavirus. These grants will help fill immediate gaps for resource-constrained newsrooms covering the impact of the coronavirus in their communities.

Very disappointed that we apparently missed the deadline to submit our application for the Community Network Grants? The stated end date was April 15th when we began preparing the application, but when I just tried to access the application to finalize and submit , there is a message that the open call period is now closed? Can you please clarify and advise if there are any other funds available? We are an independent newspaper in northern New Hampshire, and the Coronavirus impact on our rural community has been profound, painful and worsening by the day. We are committed to continuing publication, but are looking for any resources that we can access.
