Junior Math/Physics Major To Take Role



The first female editor in chief of the independent student newspaper at the Virginia
Military Institute has been elected, The Roanoke Times reports. Kendra Russell, a
junior majoring in mathematics and physics, becomes editor of The Cadet next month.



Russell is currently managing editor of the 93-year-old paper. She has a 3.5 grade point
average.



Women were first admitted to the state-funded military academy a few years ago.
