Publisher John Cruickshank has no plans to kill theToronto Star in print, but he’s no longer going to let that tail wag the dog of his newsroom.


That’s why the paper became the first to adopt the technology and workflow practices of La Presse, a French-language paper in Montreal that radically reinvented its business plan and newsroom around a tablet app, La Presse+. That app became La Presse’s primary daily news product and is slated to become the vessel for killing its own daily print edition.
