Former ‘Herald-Standard’ Chief Photographer Dies at 59


Charlie Rosendale, former chief photographer at the Herald-Standard newspaper in Uniontown, has died. He was 59.

Rosendale retired last year while battling multiple myeloma, a bone cancer. The newspaper says he died Tuesday of the disease at UPMC Montefiore hospital in Pittsburgh.

Rosendale began working at age 19 at The Daily Courier in Connellsville. He joined the Herald-Standard in October 1980, becoming the Fayette County newspaper’s chief photographer in 1985.

Rosendale is survived by his wife, Wilma, and two adult daughters.

Brooks Funeral Home in Connellsville is handling funeral arrangements.
