A 34-year-old woman is charged with stealing credit card and bank information from customers she while working at Journal Communications Inc. in Milwaukee.
Court records show Taminka Vaughn is pleading guilty in federal court to one count of mail fraud in a deal with prosecutors.
Authorities say she used the information she obtained to buy — or try to buy — more than $14,000 in goods, including a computer, audio equipment, cell phone service and athletic shoes.
Journal Communications general counsel Mary Leahy says Vaughn was placed at the company by a temporary agency between November 2006 and January 2007. The company owns the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newspaper.
A message left for Vaughn’s attorney wasn’t immediately returned.
Vaughn was convicted in 2004 in federal court of fraud and money laundering.
