Former ‘North Platte Telegraph’ Editor Dies

(AP) Keith Blackledge, who served North Platte readers for 25 years as editor of the North Platte Telegraph, has died.

A spokesman for the Odean Colonial Chapel mortuary in North Platte said Blackledge died of natural causes on Monday.

Blackledge was editor from 1967 to 1992 and donated his time to several community and statewide groups. He was president of several of the groups’ boards, including the North Platte Chamber of Commerce, the North Platte Jaycees, the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation and North Platte Area Habitat for Humanity.

Blackledge was named to the Nebraska Newspaper Hall of Fame in 2005.

Services are scheduled for Thursday.
