A former newspaper publisher from Michigan has pleaded guilty to false imprisonment and grand theft charges in Manatee, Florida.

Fifty-two-year-old William McHugh faces sentencing June 22nd.

Authorities say there were three children inside a running car when he stole it from a parking lot.

McHugh was publisher of the “Morning Sun” in Mount Pleasant, Michigan from 1999 to 2004.

Florida authorities arrested him last year, days after he also was charged with sex-related crimes in Kentucky. Two female employees at a newspaper that he managed say he improperly touched them.
