Former ‘Quad-City Times’ Worker and Wife Indicted for Mail Fraud

A former Quad-City Times employee and his wife have been indicted on federal fraud charges in Davenport.

Earl and Julie Beasley are accused of embezzling more than $1 million from the newspaper from 1998 until January.

They’re charged in 29-count indictment of mail fraud and conspiracy to commit mail fraud.

Earl Beasley was a building maintenance supervisor at the newspaper.

Beasley and his wife are accused creating a fake company and submitting invoices to the Times by mail for cleaning supplies and services.
