Avista Capital Partners, owners of the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, has hired former Time Inc. Media Group President Robin Domeniconi as a consultant to the firm.
While at Time, Domeniconi was responsible for all corporate sales and marketing for the company’s 145 media brands. She also served as president and publisher of Real Simple magazine.
In her new role, Domeniconi will be working with Avista Partners James Finkelstein and OhSang Kwon on media investing.
“Avista is very interested in companies that have strong positions in niche sectors of the content-creation, content packaging, and content-distribution segments of the media industry,” Thompson Dean, co-managing partner and CEO of Avista, said in a statement.
“Ms. Domeniconi’s extensive experience at Time Inc. where she expanded the Real Simple brand into multiple platforms — including television, satellite radio, newspaper syndication, books, and international editions, and branded products — will contribute greatly to helping source and evaluate media opportunities.”
Before joining Time, Domeniconi spent six years at Meredith Corp., where she was publisher of Country Home and Country Gardens. She served as publisher of Golf for Women and associate publisher/advertising director of Art & Antiques.
