Angolan journalist Rafael Marques de Morais will speak Thursday at the New York City office of Global Information Network, the news service that distributes stories from developing countries to North American clients.

Marques, 35, is in New York this week to receive the Northcote Parkinson Fund’s Civil Courage Prize. His stories have exposed government corruption, corporate plunder of oil wealth, and human-rights abuses in Angola — where Marques was jailed in 1999 for his reporting.
