Publishing Business Systems licensed its integrated circulation and advertising solutions to Forum Communications Co., owner of 27 daily, weekly and biweekly newspapers in the Dakotas and Minnesota.
After acquiring several properties in recent years, Forum wanted to replace its disparate advertising and circulation systems and standardize with a single-vendor solution that could be installed and maintained from a central data center in Fargo, N.D. Besides meeting that requirement, PBS offered integration of circulation and advertising systems, according to Forum Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Lloyd Case.
PBS will deliver its MediaPlus circulation management system and AdPlus advertising management system, which includes classified, display, and production applications. The systems will be integrated through a central “infobase” that will allow the newspapers to share customer information across departments, including demographic data and their collective subscriber/advertiser history.
The arrangement provides more information on the business and on customers, which Forum “can use to generate new subscription opportunities and create more targeted advertising programs,” said Chief Information Officer Mark Hayes.
