Knight Ridder Network Accepts Denver, Cincinnati Sites
KnightRidder.com and The E.W. Scripps Co. announced today that four Scripps Web sites
will join KnightRidder.com’s Real Cities network.
The sites are the Denver Rocky Mountain News’ rockymountainnews.com; The Memphis (
Tenn.) Commercial Appeal’s gomemphis.com; The Knoxville (Tenn.) News Sentinel’s
knoxnews.com; and cincinow.com, operated by WCPO-TV and featuring content from radio
stations and The Cincinnati Post.
The Scripps sites will be included in national advertising and distribution deals for
Real Cities, and will integrate the network’s local directory product, a searchable
listing of useful local Web sites handpicked by local editors.
With the Scripps additions, Real Cities now includes 36 regional destination hubs,
serving 12 of the top 26 markets in the United States, KnightRidder.com said.

In addition to local Web sites, Scripps operates popular consumer sites like foodtv.com,
hgtv.com, diynet.com, and comics.com. The company runs 31 sites in total.
Other Real Cities partners include Central Newspapers and Belo.
