There are few cartoonists who know their way around a triathlon than Jef Mallett — and this weekend, he’ll be putting himself to the test.
Award-winning, nationally syndicated cartoonist Mallett, who creates the comic strip “Frazz” for United Media, will participate in the Lifetime Chicago Triathlon Triple Challenge and will meet fans and fellow triathletes at two autographing events. The Triple Challenge features the Fleet Feet Sports Supersprint Triathlon on Saturday and the Sprint and International-distance races on Sunday.
Mallett will autograph copies of his new book “Trizophrenia: Inside the Minds of a Triathlete,” which explores the triathlon lifestyle, tomorrow from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Fleet Feet Booth in the Multisport & Fitness Expo at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan Ave.
The “Frazz” strip is set in an elementary school and stars a janitor who is a triathlete in his spare time. It runs in over 160 newspapers in the U.S. and Canada and at comics.com/frazz.
Jef pens a regular column for Inside Triathlon and Triathlete magazines and is a contributing artist for VeloNews magazine.
