FROOMKIN NAMED EDITOR AT WASHINGTONPOST.com

Newsroom Technology To Be a Priority





Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive (WPNI) has promoted Dan
Froomkin to editor of washingtonpost.com.



Froomkin, who has been metro editor at the site since 1999, will
manage the daily news operations and oversee editorial project
development. He will especially focus on improving newsroom
technology.



Froomkin will report to Vice President and Executive Editor
Douglas B. Feaver, and work with Deputy Editor Jim Sheppard.


Froomkin joined WPNI in 1997 as senior producer for politics.
Prior to WPNI, he worked for 10 years as a daily newspaper
reporter at the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Journal,
The Miami Herald, and The Orange County Register.
