The Financial Times launched a new video player embedded in news and feature articles on FT.com. The “Mini Player”lets users access video content while they are reading an article rather than having them move to a separate player.
“Video on FT.com continues to go from strength to strength in terms of both quality and quantity,” Rob Grimshaw, FT.com’s managing director, said in a statement. “We are sure that the player will prove popular to bother users and advertisers, increasing the site’s video audience and the amount of time spent on the site by each visitor.”
Over the last six months, FT.com has formed partnerships with advertisers like IBM and Bulgari and will give them access to the new Mini Player.
The FT said it delivered more than 1 million video views a month and publishes over 150 videos a month.
