Fusion Systems International, Portland, Ore., has begun shipping new releases of Fusion workflows and RIPs designed for higher productivity by exploiting the latest Quad and Dual Quad Core hardware available from Apple Computer and a wide range of PC and server manufacturers. The new solutions are faster and offer new capabilities.
New multi-thread-enabled versions of Fusion Systems International’s DigiPage ROOM workflow and FTIFF workflow accelerator also provide file processing, automated file routing and halftone dot digital proofing. All Fusion Systems’ solutions are available for both Apple OS X and Microsoft Windows.
Additional new Fusion RIP capabilities include native file- processing support for PDF 1.7 files, pre-rastered PDF Output for JDF workflows, native file-processing support for Microsoft XPS 1.0 files, and look-up table (LUT) support for new Pantone GOES colors
Included with the release is a new version of the Print Production Manager (PPM) Web-browser-based interface for controlling print queues and performing soft-proofing from any networked workstation. PPM also provides detailed file processing and real-time production status information.
Fusion workflows’ and RIPs’ optional features include trapping, font emulation, auto-color conversion, ICC color management, advanced screening, post-RIP imposition, automated file routing, and CIP3 compliance.
