Fusion Systems has released version 4.07 of its Fusion Workflow ESP for Windows, which features new prepress technology for automating workflow. The upgraded software, which is also available for Mac OS X and Linux, is well-suited for ?Windows-centric newspapers,? according to a release.
The workflow automation feature, which the company calls dynamic job routing, combines with true-page numbering and post-process scripting to automate prepress tasks.
With the single-page ROOM (rip once output many) workflow, users can RIP pages when they?re ready, rather than wait for the entire publication to be finished. The automated page-pairing and imposition features offer increased productivity and reduce the load on system resources. In addition, users can soft-proof full-resolution pages, and preview plate or press image data in full color before output, reducing the need to make changes once the publication has gone to press.
