If you’ve noticed that Darby Conley has simplified his usually detailed “Get Fuzzy” art this month, it’s because he hurt his drawing arm.
The cartoonist couldn’t be reached for comment, but a United Media spokesperson told E&P that Conley is “trying his best” to work with the injury as he recovers.
This week, Conley has been showing Satchel Pooch and Bucky Katt with little background drawn behind them as they explore post-“Get Fuzzy” career opportunities. One possibility is getting jobs playing other cartoon characters — and today the two animals looked like Calvin and Hobbes.
“Get Fuzzy” appears in more than 500 newspapers.
