(AP) The Galveston County Daily News relied on its online edition to get the news out during Hurricane Rita. Now, the paper will be delivering printed versions of all those daily papers.
Galveston was one of the first cities on the Texas coast forced to evacuate as Rita bore down on the region.
The last delivered newspaper was Thursday’s edition.
The newspaper will begin delivering printed versions of the Sunday/Monday edition — with inserts of the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday editions — this morning.
Delivery had been limited with many carriers evacuating, and will be limited today, with less than half the carriers having returned.
“Where we can we’re going to throw them,” Mainland Editor T.J. Aulds said.
