USA Today turns 25 this week and Gannett CEO Craig Dubow sent a memo out to employees today encapsulating the history of the paper.
“USA Today upended the media industry,” Dubow wrote in a statement. “It helped make journalism less self-conscious and more customer centric. It sped the transition to color and tighter writing. It brought television and newspapers closer together, in time to welcome the Internet. It was innovation at its best.”
Dubow added that the paper is continually changing.
