Gannett has named Leslie Giallombardo as vice president of advertising for the newspaper division.
Giallombardo was president and publisher of The Tennessean in Nashville until August 2005 when she left to form her own firm. Before becoming publisher in 2002, she was senior vice president of marketing at the Tennessean.
“I couldn’t be happier that Leslie is returning to Gannett to head up the advertising group in the newspaper division,” Sue Clark-Johnson, president of the newspaper division, said in a statement. “Her talent and depth of knowledge about the industry will be a wonderful addition to our team.”
Giallombardo joined Gannett in 1982 and has worked at The Idaho Statesman in Boise, The Desert Sun in Palm Springs, Calif., the Reno (Nev.) Gazette-Journal, and the Statesman Journal in Salem, Ore.
