Gannett Swaps Land For Oahu Site

By: Jim Rosenberg

Through its parent Gannett Co. Inc., The Honolulu Advertiser has completed a brokered land swap with the Campbell Estate, giving it the 11.6 acres in Kapolei on which it intends to break ground in late spring for a 147,000-square-foot, $81 million production and distribution plant expected to be complete in 2 1/2 years.

For its Hawaiian daily’s new facility in Oahu’s new city, Gannett exchanged “excess land” that it owned “elsewhere around the country,” said a company spokeswoman.
