Tribune Media Services named Michael Gart vice president of finance/CFO. He succeeds Don Kraska.
Gart previously spent four years as director, supplier services at Tribune Co.’s Finance Service Center. Before that, he was vice president/finance for NTC/Contempory Publishing Group in Chicago (1996-2000) and senior vice president/finance and operations for Farm Journal Publishing in Philadelphia (1994-96). From 1983-94, Gart held various Tribune Co. positions — including internal auditor, financial analyst/real estate, purchasing manager, and technology manager.
When asked a series of questions — including why Kraska left and whether his departure was voluntary — TMS released this statement by President/CEO David Williams: “In early June, TMS Vice President of Finance Don Kraska announced that he would be leaving the company at the end of July. Don joined Tribune Co. in 1986 and has served in the lead finance role at TMS since 1995. He’s enjoyed a long and successful career within the Tribune organization, and now he’s decided to move on to continue his professional development outside the company.”
