Last week wasn’t a good one for Gary Johnson. In fact, the Libertarian presidential nominee who stunned the political world with a single, dizzying question — “What is Aleppo?” — had the worst week in Washington, according to Chris Cillizza.

Yet Johnson still managed to earn the endorsement over the weekend of the Winston-Salem (N.C.) Journal. That’s notable because it is a) Johnson’s second endorsement by a daily newspaper and represented b) more daily newspaper endorsements than Donald Trump has collected so far in the general election.
