Shoom Inc. in Encino, Calif., announced today it signed agreements to supply its eTearSheet hosted solution to GateHouse Media newspapers, headquartered in Fairport, N.Y., and Heartland Publications LLC, headquartered in Clinton, Conn.
“We found Shoom easy to implement, operate and maintain,” GateHouse Circulation Vice President Fred L. Foutz said in a statement. “Key was the Total Access search capabilities that give us a unique market analysis and sales tool for our advertisers and advertising divisions.”
GateHouse Media is among the largest U.S. publishers of local print and online media, with 523 community publications including 98 dailies, 292 weeklies and more than 250 Web sites. Initial Shoom implementations will take place at Illinois’ Journal Star, Peoria, Rockford Register Star and The State Journal-Register, Springfield.
After “following the growing acceptance of electronic tearsheets and the evolution of the vendors for some time,” Heartland CEO Michael Bush said in a statement, calling Shoom’s Total Access “an exclusive analysis tool to track market dynamics [that] helps our salespeople better serve their advertisers and in the process drive additional revenue.”
Formed in May 2004 with a single acquisition of 24 publications from the CNHI newspaper group, Heartland now owns 32 publications, all in medium and small markets in Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, and West Virginia.
