London-based Presteligence Ltd. announced Monday that, following a buy-in by management, it acquired GEI Prepress from Graphic Enterprises Inc., North Canton, Ohio. The acquisition follows the companies’ 15-month joint venture to develop and market their products globally. GEI Prepress has served the newspaper industry for 30 years.
The hardware sales, service and supply portion of GEI’s prepress business will remain with Graphic Enterprises Inc. “We are now a global software company and can focus all of our efforts on serving the newspaper and publishing industries internationally,” said GEI Prepress Division President Bob Behringer, who now serves as the group’s chief technology officer and, in the U.S., as Presteligence Inc. president, along with Randy Plant as operations vice president and Melissa Mc Bride as controller.
Group CEO is Neil Heyside. Paul Kemp was named chief operating officer, Norma Hughes was appointed global marketing director, and Michael Cowles vice president.
