(AP) Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist and author George F. Will was named winner of the Denver Press Club’s Damon Runyon Award Wednesday.
The award is given to a journalist whose work best exemplifies the vivid style of Runyon, an early Denver and New York newspaper writer. He later authored “Guys and Dolls,” the short story collection that became the basis for a musical of the same name.
Will’s syndicated column appears in 450 newspapers and in Newsweek. He is a contributing analyst for ABC News and is a regular on ABC’s “This Week.”
Will has written several books, including “Men at Work: The Craft of Baseball.”
He will be presented the award at an April 7 dinner in Denver.
