Axel Springer’s Ostsee-Zeitung, Rostock, Germany, will upgrade its ad production and workflow management with solutions from MAN Roland subsidiary ppi Media.
The paper will use ppi Media’s AdMan to organize ad production workflow, integrating its ad-booking system into its existing printnet planning and production workflow. The upgraded system will allow ads to be booked, produced and billed in a single process, and features automated options for producing different types of ads.
To integrate plate production into the workflow, Ostsee-Zeitung will use ppi Media’s printnet OM application. With printnet, the paper’s prepress systems, including ppi’s Proof-Station, Harlequin RIPs , computer-to-plate imagers and press-control system, will be integrated via existing standard interfaces. The output management system is able to take into account the printing times and production specs of the paper’s KBA Commander press, according to the company.
