German media company Verlag Nürnberger Presse has gone live on the Atex Polopoly Web content management system as part of the relaunch of nordbayern.de, the online presence of Nürnberger Nachrichten and the Nürnberger Zeitung.
The implementation includes close integration between Polopoly and the Atex editorial system for easy content exchange between print and online editorial teams.
Citing the goal of print-online cooperation, Werner Wittmann, relaunch project coordinator, said in a statement, “The integration with the Atex editorial system we already use for the print production allows the print editors to put their content directly online and thus permits us to introduce modern convergent ways of working.”
“The system is designed to cover all our current and future demands in the digital world,” added Alexander Maintok, technical project manager for the system implementation. Polopoly applications include community services and personalization.
Focusing on local and regional news, nordbayern.de enables readers to search pages and articles using geo-codes presented on maps.
Polopoly also helped Verlag Nürnberger Presse make other services accessible through the newly designed uniform navigation. They include a database with information about all major regional events, an area for regional restaurants that integrates the largest dining database of northern Bavaria, and an expanded sports section with results of leagues in Northern Bavaria, game reports and Bundesliga betting games.
