Two executives from Tostan, a Senegal-based NGO (non-governmental organization) that does educational work in West Africa, will speak Sept. 13 at the Global Information Network office in New York City.
Global — which syndicates news and feature articles from developing countries to clients in the U.S. and Canada — periodically hosts “African Roundtable” events.
The speakers include Tostan Founder/Executive Director Molly Melching and Deputy Executive Director Malick Daigne. Also slated to talk is Oureye Sali, a former circumciser whose life was changed partly through the help of Tostan — winner of this year’s Conrad Hilton Humanitarian Prize.
Next Thursday evening’s event will be co-hosted by the New York-based Sauti Yetu Center for African Women.
