The Globe and Mail, headquartered in Toronto, has launched an Apple iPad news app, available at the iTunes App Store.

Developed by Spreed Inc., also of Toronto, the app provides breaking news and analysis, feature content selected specifically for the iPad, a daily photo gallery and downloadable content for offline reading.

According to the Globe and Mail, its mobile properties generated 20 million page views through mobile-phone and online readers in June, when it also launched its Globe2Go e-paper, allowing readers to view and download a digital version of the printed edition on mobile phones and the iPad.
