The Boston Globe announced that its staff will write a book on the Roman Catholic Church’s sexual abuse scandal. To be published by Little, Brown, the hardcover book is expected by June.
Globe Publisher Richard H. Gilman said any proceeds would go to charity.
The book’s starting point will be the dozens of stories published in the Globe since January, followed with additional reporting and analysis.
The Globe is widely credited with starting the ongoing national investigation into charges of child sexual abuse by priests. The Boston paper chronicled a long-standing pattern of child abuse and cover-up by the local Archdiocese — a pattern that has since been revealed by the media in other parts of the country as well.
