The Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild has called for a byline strike June 5 and 6 at The Washington Post, the newspaper reported today.
Among the issues in the stalled talks for a successor to the contract that expired May 18 is pay. The Guild wants 3% annual raises over three years — the Post is offering an $1,100 lump-sum payment in the first year and raises ranging from 1% to 3.7% in the second and third years.
The Guild represents more than 1,400 Post editorial and noneditorial employees.
