Habitat for Humanity to Auction Oversized ‘Pickles’ Comic

By: E&P Staff

“Pickles” cartoonist Brian Crane did a much-bigger-than-usual drawing to help Habitat for Humanity.

The Habitat group in Sparks, Nev., asked local celebrities to paint doors that will be auctioned Oct. 18 to raise money for homes for low-income families. Crane painted a four-panel “Pickles” strip in color on a closet door.

Crane’s comic — which features Earl and Opal Pickles, who have been married 50 years — runs in more than 400 newspapers via the Washington Post Writers Group.
