King Features Syndicate is introducing “Happy Musings” this Monday.
It’s a six-day-a-week color panel, by artist Sally Huss, that contains observations about life. It began this February in The Desert Sun of Palm Springs, Calif.
Huss started writing her aphorisms nearly 40 years ago. She stored them away until she met her husband Marv, a former head of advertising and promotion for Hallmark Cards. He helped her create a line of “gift art” (small pieces of art with verse) along with other licensed products.
The California-born Huss graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in fine art. She went on to do research and production work in film and TV, and manage musician Paul Simon’s music publishing company. Huss is also an avid tennis player; at 19, she was a Wimbledon semifinalist.
