Reuters Makes Some Content Free, Citing ‘Unprecedented’ Shift

Reuters, citing “the unprecedented shift to digital publishing and online news consumption,” is making some of its original news content—text, pictures, video and multimedia packages—available for free to publishers, the company announced Tuesday afternoon.

 

Reuters global managing director Steven Schwartz, in a release, talked about the company’s commitment to innovation and willingness “to disrupt traditional approaches to gain insights and help news publishing flourish.”
